One-off, original bronze sculpture of an altar piece representing Mt Ruapehu, the largest mountian in the Central Plateau of the North Island of Aotearoa New Zealand.
Born in 1957, Gerrard McCabe is a self-taught sculptor predominatly working in bronze casting using the 'lost wax' method. Gerarrd created the original wax sculpture, worked in a foundry to cast the piece and has done all the 'fettling', finishing and patination (colouring) himself.
