Cast bronze sculpture of a polar bear in a hoodie. The predicament of the planet is at the forefront of this work, with the polar bear depicted at the verge of extinction. The hoodie is symbolic of many things - strength, belonging, fear, anonymity, being part of a group. There is also the connotations associated with 'hiding the face' and how that is received or interpreted by the onlooker. In Lucy's words, the hoodie is "like a pair of blue jeans, a ubiquitous feature of our modern world... and here gloriously ‘super pacific’ size... striking an imposing presence, needing to be quietly seen, certainly not by-passed." This is a marquette of the larger bronze Big Man.
