For well over 25 years now Bill
has been making a name for himself as a leading New Zealand commission bronze sculptor
and ceramic artisan. In the past he has been - -commissioned to produce bronze plaques for Card Member Wines Easter show, -commissioned to produce bronze plaques as part of Sir Edmund Hillary Ice Axe memorabilia case, -commissioned to produce a copper and ceramic fountain for the entrance to The Lake House Art Centre - Created a bronze entrance-way for Wairakia Golf Course - Created a large bronze Pelagic Chevron public sculpture in downtown Auckland - Created a giant sugar grab sculpture in the Chelsea Heritage Estate Park - Created a large bronze interpretation of Captain Cooks sextant (Cooks Beach) I have been enthralled in the act of creation for many years now, and this body of work represents a collection of several concepts. I see them as a narrative about the process of creating sculpture. They have a textural quality that is so much a part of working with cast metals, and they show a physicality that is required to produce a finished work...they challenge the viewer to look, comtemplate, and bring to bare their own aesthetic sense of form and texture to the work."
