Bio
Greg Chichester is an emerging contemporary artist from Auckland, New Zealand. His oil on canvas NZ landscape paintings and NZ beach art portray stunning summer scenes from some of Aotearoa’s most iconic locations, from Hot Water Beach down to Central Otago.
I like to paint pictures that are pleasant to the eye with defined tonal values and light play.

Influenced by painters such as Lucian Freud, John Singer-Sargeant, Diego Velazquez and Joaquin Sorolla, Greg’s subject matter ranges from landscapes through to still-life and portrait studies. An avid surfer, kayaker, and cyclist, Greg has intimate knowledge of the New Zealand countryside and coastlines and brings an experienced eye to his artwork.
Greg has been perfecting his craft for several years. He paints exclusively in oils and is currently in his third year at the Matthew Browne School of Art in Auckland City.
