Julie Ross
Julie Ross
has been an artist since childhood, drawing at a very early age. She grew
up in Sarasota, Florida where she received her first formal art instruction
through the Visual and Performing Arts Center. Her work was recognized with various art awards and
scholarships both from local and national programs. In 1987 she received a
Bachelor of Fine Arts from the School of Visual Arts in New York City where she majored in media arts and minored in art therapy.
Julie has worked in both the private jet and yachting industries, which has
provided travel throughout the world. Julie has created magnificent works in the confined
spaces of her quarters on board and works in various mediums and on available
materials including driftwood from the beaches of Cuba. She has displayed her work from New York City to South Africa
to New Zealand. Julie now lives in New Zealand, where she is working on her
"Visualizing Whirled Peas" theme. Visualizing world peace on a conscious and sub-conscious level , incorporating this message into her work by painting green sphere visuals of "peas". Julie believes that placing these symbols into her work acts as a trigger to thoughts of peace on all levels both personal and global, putting into action the power we have to make changes. |
