"This exhibition is inspired by our family holidays in Tairua, Coromandel, where we are surrounded by the tranquility of nature.
I am drawn to the variety and uniqueness that is nature and find inspiration within every part of the enviroment. These works capture mountains and coastal glimpses.They show the diversity of sculpural form from the striking Flax Flower through to the free flowing spirit and movement of our coastal Toi Toi.
Further variety is achieved through the use of subtle hues mixed with strong vibrant colours to provide a point of interest." New Zealand painter Rosemary Eagles has developed a distinctive style in producing vibrant and passionate depictions of New Zealand native flora and fauna. For her realistic depictions she paints on linen in order to achieve subtle blends of colour without the compromise of the coarse texture of canvas. Her more abstract compositions are painted thicker on canvas.
