Andrew Bond

Andrew has had no formal painting training. His working method tends to use autoism in much the same manner as the Surrealists of the early 20th century. Often the resulting images are ecological or environmental in nature and can range from abstracts to representational work.

Chronological summary of significant events in art career:
1979 - Still life drawing classes at ASA
1985 - 86 -Traveled though Australia, Singapore, Sri Lanka, India, UK and Germany
1990 - Traveled through outback Australia (Western Australia, Northern Territory, and Queensland)
Much of this time was spent in the Kakadu region of Northern Territory looking at Aboriginal rock and cave drawings.
1995 - Began painting
1999 - Moved to Christchurch. Became a full time painter.
2000 - Began exhibiting
2006 - Published in New Zealand Favourite Artists edited by Denis Robinson
2008 - Oct Exhibition at Art by the Sea gallery, Devonport
